Anggun – Sessions at West 54th

This is a classic performance by Anngun ("Grace Created in Dreams") when she was first coming to fame in the West. Sessions at West 54th was eventually aired on PBS, where I saw her for the first time. It made a lasting impression! I have just about all her English and French recordings, plus other things she has done, like the movie soundtrack for Open Hearts.

This video really showcases Anggun's great talent and beauty, as well as her Indonesian soul… I would use it as an introduction to Anggun to those who don't know of her… yet

Opening song is called "Selamanya". TRIVIA: Her dance moves are taken from a traditional Balinese dance. The song A Rose in the Wind is sung to the tune of her Indonesian song "Kembali" which means "welcome" or "please return again"). (different lyrics from A Rose in the Wind.)
